Kim Stoner

Kim has nearly reached 45 years in education, teaching and leading in some of the most challenging school in Thanet, including both mainstream and special educational settings. Retired Executive Headteacher of St George’s C of E Foundation School; she led the school through a “challenging period” and on leaving  it was the most oversubscribed school in Kent, which OFSTED recognised as Good with Outstanding features. Two of the most rewarding experiences of Kim’s educational career was to bring back the Christian Distinctiveness of the school and lead St George’s to become and “all through” school with primary provision opening in September 2016.

Kim was a KLE (Kent Leader of Education) becoming Interim Executive Headteacher of two further secondary schools that were facing significant challenges. In her as role of Executive Headteacher she worked collaboratively with many stakeholders: the Dioceses. The LA. PixL, politicians, local councillors, police and Social Services. Kim has presented at numerous National Conferences for CAPITA and Canterbury Diocese on Leadership.

Since retiring from her post of Executive Headteacher Kim has worked for the LA is an advisory role and held a position as an IEB Governor, become a member of the Broadstairs Local College Board and had the honour of serving as Chair of Governors at the Archbishop’s School, Canterbury, for 5 years before stepping down July 2025. Kim has recently become Chair of Governors at Holy Trinity and St John’s, Margate.

Kim is ambitious for all children and passionate that every child and every member of staff is able to flourish with any school setting.

Kim believes with a plan, there is hope and with hope there is a future, Kim is driven to ensure that all are provided with the very best of opportunities to succeed.
